J0013 – Jadeite Filter

Diamond Filter Jadeite. Filters allow certain colours to pass through the lenses while blocking others for essential gem identification. You can use a jadeite filter to quickly find any stones that are “not like the others.” in a parcel full of assorted stones. Great to sort batches quickly as a primary process before moving on to use secondary sort method.

D0209- Tanzanite Filter

The filter consists of three filters. Two polaroids and one coloured filter. The tanzanite when viewed under tungsten lighting through the one polaroid you will see a bluish colour and through the other filter a reddish violet colour. This is characteristic of tanzanite. Through the coloured filter, tanzanite will appear red. It is important to get the two different colours and the red colour for it to pass as tanzanite.

INSTRUCTIONS: Place loose stone table down on the white viewing surface that comes with the kit. Illuminate with a bright incandescent light, such as a pen light for very dark stones. Strongly illuminate from below do not use florescent light or sunlight this will introduce misleading green colour through the filter, the viewing surface should appear dim. Pinkish/Grey colour, now hold the colour filter as close as possible to the eye when you are viewing the test stone.
