This is the most popular suspension motor model, the FA-2 Suspension Motor, is teamed up with the FCT-1 foot operated Speed Control in plastic housing. Foredom’s 1/8 HP, universal,

flexible shaft machine runs in forward rotation at speeds up to 18,000 RPM. The FA-2 combines power, reliability and versatility– into one motor. One year warranty against relevant serial numbers.

Tips and maintenance advice: Never over-load your suspension motor or it will cause vibration and “knotting” of the shaft.

Let the tool do the work and don’t exert anything more than a firm but gentle application force of the tool.

Forcing the tool will only result in damage to the tool and work piece. If an accessory catches on an imperfection and stops rotating this causes motor overload.

Periodically clean and re-grease the inner shaft to reduce vibration. Don’t over-do the grease either or your handpiece will over-heat.

Low motor speeds give users more control in certain operations such as milling, drilling and grinding. It also prevents bur and bit clogging when working with soft metals such as aluminum.

Low speeds generate less heat that may adversely affect metal hardness and tempering.
