Mandrels

A mandrel is a metalsmithing tool used to size and shape various types of metal and wire, as well as for measuring the size of an existing ring or bangle. Mandrels are typically used with a hammer or mallet to shape metal. Mandrels come in all different shapes and sizes for small bezels, coin frames, earrings, rings or bangles, they are commonly made of steel, aluminum, wood or plastic.
