Use the pigment resin dye in Conjunction with clear resin activator ( Bulk size 200GRAMS ) which serves as a veneer. 1/100 ration of colour tint or dye to the clear UV resin.
The UV must cure under a 30-35 watt UV light to avoid stickiness and bubbles.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE :UV RESIN
Use in Conjunction with our range of tint/dyes to achieve colours or pearl finishes or just the clear resin to coat an object and seal an item. Use tint 1/100 ratio of colour tint or dye to the clear UV resin. The colour can not be too solid otherwise the clear resin will not set properly.
1-part UV curable clear resin and can be used for a number of small casting type applications including jewellery making, art, doming and rapid positioning of electrical components.
It has good adhesion to ceramics, glass, metal, stone and some hard plastics. The cured resin has good optical transparency and is UV resistant.
UV is a colourless clear liquid with the following properties:
Viscosity – 3000 to 4000 cps
Tensile Strength – 2100 psi
Modulus – 29678 psi
Elongation at break – 156%
Hardness – 85D Shore
Shrinkage – 0.01%
Curing Energy – 36 Watt UV Lamp 2 to 4 minutes, Curing time is dependent upon the lamp used.
SAFETY AND HANDLING
These resin systems are chemicals and the below safety precautions should be practiced when using these materials.
Work in an environment with adequate ventilation and avoid breathing fumes (a NIOSH approved respirator is recommended)
Use protective Nitrile gloves to avoid skin contact
Barrier creams can also be used to minimize skin contact
If accidental skin contact occurs, use soap and water or hand cleaner to wash hands (never use solvents)
DO NOT INGEST – If accidentally ingested, do not induce vomiting, stay calm and seek medical attention.
