Remove any articles on you that may catch in any way or protrude from your person.

Some profiles of jewelry can be supported using a flat piece of wood, wrap chains around a flat stick, polishing only a short piece at a time. Do so positioning the chain parallel to the direction of the wheel.

Stop use if the wheel/buff is unstable or chattering or unbalanced. The wheel face should always appear crisp if it blurs it is not running true.

If the piece becomes tangled in the moving equipment do not try and rescue it, withdraw hands and switch off.
