Checklist:
– Polishing Cloth: A soft, lint free cloth, untreated or treated with polishing compound made for jewellery polishing.
– Polishing Wheel: Polish wheel made of muslin, felt or cotton mounted onto a bench grinder or polishing machine (to be used with polishing compound).
– Polishing Compound: Polishing compound can either be made of abrasive paste or different formulated compounds, such as jeweller’s rouge or Unipol polishing compound. Polishing compound is applied to a polishing cloth or wheel.
– Polishing brushes: Small brushes with bristle, felt or nylon bristles.
– Polishing Pads and/or Sanding Paper: Pre-treated pads or different grit sanding paper. Sanding paper used to remove scratches, rough surfaces or blemishes. Mostly used for hand polishing.
– Jewellery Cleaning Solution: Solution made specifically for cleaning metals or gemstones to remove dirt, oils and residue before the polishing process.
– Safety Equipment: Safety glasses, gloves, apron and finger guards/tape.
– Ultrasonic Cleaner (Optional): Ultrasonic cleaning device used to remove dirt and grime from jewellery. Can be used before or after polishing.
